Welcome to the Bastide du Roy. Located in Antibes, near Cannes, this reception area is one of the places steeped in history on the French Riviera. Built at the end of the 16th century, it was the King of France Henri IV who received the Bastide as a wedding gift in 1608.
In 1924, the famous stylist Jeanne Lanvin bought the Bastide to make it an artistic center. Jean-Claude-Nicolas Forestier, landscaper at the Palace of Versailles designed all of the gardens of the Bastide. He created an ensemble like the parks of the Provençal hinterland of the 18th century. He plants 365 olive trees surrounded by seven themed gardens: the French garden, the Spanish garden, the music garden, the parterre of santolins, the hedge of lime trees, the garden of Olives and the parterre d’honneur. Its creation remains unique to this day in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and makes the Bastide du Roy a timeless place.
Wedding Table
Bastide du Roy inspired us with the intimacy and serenity of a secret Roman garden. We wanted to play on audacity both in colors and in styling.
In the French garden, the table with voluptuous flowers is steeped in history with its crockery with antique moldings and luxurious gilding. The colorful floral compositions are presented like a small free and dancing garden in the center of the table.
Wedding Dress and Bouquet
This very wisteria set the general tone for the shoot. Parma and mauve in all its forms, accentuated by touches sometimes peach, sometimes flamboyant. A multitude of flowers in various shapes respond to each other in a Fine Art garden spirit. The bouquet is meant to be radiant and unstructured.
The centerpiece of this shoot, the “Iris” wedding dress created by Marion Fera is dedicated to floral art. Composed of petals of gathered tulle and assembled in shades from ivory to parma, it is naturally puffy with its 70 meters of tulle. This majestic and poetic creation recalls the haute couture dresses that inspired the designer’s childhood.
Wedding Cake
In the recesses of the Spanish garden, authenticity is symbolized with the colorful flowering of the superb antique bronze statue, wrapping the superb wedding cake presented by London designer Sadie May Cake.
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony in the music garden is so gorgeous ! A fireworks display of Parma Delphiniums in Medici vases forming a Mediterranean decor sublimating the fountain adorned with its wisteria.
